In 1963, for its first anniversary presentation, FPJ Productions released "Ito ang Maynila," starring filmdom's two top action stars, Fernando Poe, Jr. and Joseph Estrada. It tells of two friends on opposite sides of the law.

Two young men from the province, Narding (Fernando Poe, Jr.) and Pepe (Joseph Estrada) ventured and tried they luck in the big city. They went to their respective relatives in one of the crowded slums in Manila. Soon, they met and became good friends. As they adapt to the ways of city life, Narding, a mechanic, was able to land a job in a motor shop, while Pepe was hired as a jeepney driver.

Pepe’s life got messed up when he got linked to a gang (Max, Paquito, etal) and led the group in a series of robberies and holdups. He even lured Narding to his side for fast money. Narding, for his part, tried t persuade Pepe to abandon his illegal activities but to no avail. Fate had its way and Pepe met a tragic end.
